Notion pages, Google Drive and Dropbox files come in through Cloud.
Scanned PDFs
Yes. Sharly supports scanned PDFs through OCR (image-to-text). On Free, OCR is limited; Pro, Team, and Business include full OCR support.File size limit
Each file can be up to 100 MB. This limit applies on every plan. If a document is larger, compress it or split it into smaller files before uploading.Document length
Each document can be up to about 250 pages on Free and about 1,250 pages on Pro, Team and Business. Scanned documents can be up to 2,000 pages. See Limits.Context limit
Separately from the upload size, the amount of text Sharly can analyze in a single query depends on your plan: Free plan: about 10k tokens (~a few thousand words) per query.Pro: up to ~50k tokens.
Team/Business: even higher (124k tokens or custom). This ensures you can analyze anything from short papers to full reports.
Free plan uploads
Free users can upload up to 5 documents per month, with 50 questions. Pro and above remove these limits.See also: Plans Overview
Multiple uploads
Yes. You can upload multiple documents at once and ask cross-document questions. Sharly will connect the dots across all sources.Cloud integrations
Yes. You can sync files directly from Google Drive, Dropbox, or Notion without downloading first. Click Cloud in your Library or in a new chat, then go to the Add Source tab to connect each service.Reuse a file from your Library
Every file you upload is kept in your Library. To use it in another chat, select it in the Library and click Chat with selected, or in a new chat click Cloud and choose Library. There’s no need to upload it again.Add a link or paper ID
Click Add Link in your Library or in a new chat, and paste one of these:
Links to scanned PDFs, TIFFs and images (PNG, JPG) are read with OCR, just like uploaded files.
For Google and Microsoft links, share the file so that anyone with the link can view it. YouTube videos and Drive folders can’t be added as links. If a link can’t be imported, Sharly tells you why and what to try instead.
Add files to an existing chat
Inside any open chat, click the Add Files button at the bottom-left of the chat input area to attach additional documents to the current conversation. This lets you ask cross-document questions without starting a new chat.Presentations and spreadsheets
Yes. Sharly reads PowerPoint files (.ppt and .pptx) slide by slide, with their speaker notes, and OpenDocument presentations (.odp). Older Office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt) work as well as current ones. Spreadsheets (Excel, OpenDocument, CSV and TSV) are read as tables. Each sheet keeps its name and header row, so you can ask questions about the data, for example “Which country has the highest value in 2023?”OCR (image-to-text)
Sharly automatically converts images, scanned pages, and non-selectable text into searchable text. This lets you summarize and analyze even scanned contracts or academic papers.This file is too long
If a document is longer than your plan allows, Sharly shows This file is too long and tells you how long the document is. Split it into smaller files and upload them to the same chat, or upgrade to Pro if you’re on the Free plan.Upload errors
If your file doesn’t upload, try:- Checking the file format against the supported formats.
- Reducing file size or splitting into smaller chunks.
- Re-uploading after refreshing.
If issues continue, reach out to support.
- Zip files — unzip them and upload the files inside.
- Password-protected PDFs — remove the password, then upload the PDF.
