Upload documents

Drag and drop a file into Sharly, or click Upload Document from your dashboard. Supported formats include PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Notion exports, and more. Your document will appear instantly in your workspace, ready for analysis.

Ask your first question

Once a document is uploaded, type a question in the chat box (e.g., “Summarize this in 5 bullet points”). Sharly will respond with an answer backed by citations from your file. This makes it easy to move from raw content to trusted insights in seconds.

View summaries

Every uploaded document comes with an instant AI-generated summary. You’ll see key insights and citations linked to the original text, so you can verify facts quickly and save time on long reports.

Change appearance

Go to Settings → Platform to switch between light mode, dark mode, or system default. This lets you work in the theme that’s easiest on your eyes.

Manage your prompt library

Under Settings → Prompt Library, you can create, edit, and organize reusable prompts to speed up your research workflow. Built-in prompts come pre-loaded and cover common tasks:
  • Summarize — Generate a concise summary of the document.
  • Highlight — Surface the most important points.
  • Simplify — Rewrite content in plain language.
  • Enhance — Expand on ideas with more detail.
  • Critique — Provide a critical analysis of the content.
  • Meme — Generate a lighthearted take on the material.
Custom prompts — Click + New Prompt to create your own. Give it a name and write the instruction you want the AI to follow. Custom prompts appear alongside the built-in ones and can be applied to any chat. You can also search your prompt library by name, reorder prompts by dragging the handles, and favorite prompts you use often so they appear at the top.

Multi-language support

Sharly supports multiple languages on both the platform and the AI agent. The platform interface (menus, buttons, navigation) can be switched in Settings → Platform, so the whole app appears in your preferred language. The AI agent language is separate and chat-specific. You can choose it inside each chat’s settings, meaning one chat can run in English while another runs in Spanish, Chinese, or any other supported language.
